Pasta Tips

The only way to cook Past is Al Dente. This is a myth. Pasta is like any other food. Cook it as much or as little as you like.

Add olive oil to the cooking water to keep the pasta from sticking. A Good Iea. Pasta can stick when not properly cooked (and who is perfect) . If it's cooked with olive oil, it will slightly coat the noodles and prevent sauce from sticking.

Breaking long pasta into shorter pieces makes it easier to eat. No, broken strands are hard to eat since they're not long enough to twirl onto a fork. If spaghetti were better short, it would have been made that way.

Put the Pasta on the side of the pot-if it sticks, it's done. The only way to know if it's done is to taste it and se if you like it. The legend is that should be "al dente", or firm to the bite. We like it that way, but how you cook it is up to you.

Rinse pasta after cooking and draining. No. This will make the pasta cold and rinse away the starch that helps bind the sauce to it.

It's all about the sauce. No. It is all a matter of personal taste. My favorite way to eat pasta is with a little salt and seasonings, (your choice) and Parmesan cheese. But that is my choice. My dear wife like to experiment wwith different prepared sauces. It's pasta with sauce-not sauce with pasta.
